Sexy Ruby, inspired by Michael Kors Sexy Ruby (2017)

Sexy Ruby begins with raspberry and apricot, tart berry against a rounder stone-fruit sweetness. Rose petals and jasmine sambac open up in the heart and give it a distinctly rosy character. The base is a single, smooth layer of cashmere woods, which keeps the finish dry instead of vanilla-sweet.

About the original

Michael Kors launched Sexy Ruby in July 2017 as part of its Sexy collection, which also includes Sexy Amber and Sexy Sunset. The brand called it a modern chypre inspired by the colour and brilliance of a ruby, with model Edita Vilkeviciute fronting the campaign. It no longer appears on Michael Kors's fragrance pages in the UK, US, Germany, France or Italy and is reported to be discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Michael Kors stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Rose lovers who want fruit in front and wood behind are the obvious match. Opinion on the original was divided between those who found it refined and those who thought the rose turned dusty, so expect a rosy scent rather than a candied one.
