Sexy Sunset, inspired by Michael Kors Sexy Sunset (2016)

Nashi pear sets the tone, crisp and watery, with blackcurrant, lotus and freesia adding a cool, dewy lift. A full floral bouquet follows, where peony and gardenia lead and rose, magnolia and jasmine sit behind them. Vanilla appears in the base but stays smooth and light, sharing space with sandalwood, cedar and a clean musk called helvetolide.

About the original

Sexy Sunset arrived in January 2016 as a limited edition, first as a UK exclusive at The Perfume Shop and then on wider release from February, as well as in travel retail. Michael Kors drew on Sexy Amber for it, but the two are different scents. The juice was pink, in a bottle with a gold shimmer, and no perfumer has been named.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Michael Kors stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Wearers who like their florals pink and pretty, with fruit up front, will feel at home here. The vanilla is restrained, which helps if most vanilla scents seem heavy to you, though the floral heart is busy and full.

Is Sexy Sunset the same as Sexy Amber?

No. Sexy Sunset was inspired by Sexy Amber but is a separate scent, a fruity floral built on pear, peony and gardenia. We make both.

Is Michael Kors Sexy Sunset discontinued?

Michael Kors issued it as a 2016 limited edition, and it has not been made since. It is absent from the brand's current range.

Is Michael Kors Sexy Sunset coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Michael Kors about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
