Trussardi Uomo The Red, inspired by Trussardi Uomo The Red (2016)

A dash of cognac, a boozy note with a dried-fruit edge, opens The Red alongside nutmeg, citron and green galbanum. Geranium, with its rosy, slightly minty leaf, takes over in the heart. Clary sage and violet leaf keep that middle stage herbal and green. Leather and patchouli then gather in the base, and tonka bean adds a sweet, almond-like roundness.

About the original

The Red arrived in 2016 as a flanker of Trussardi Uomo, following the 2011 Uomo and Black Extreme (2014). Aurélien Guichard is usually credited as the perfumer. Trussardi's launch copy called the leather, patchouli and tonka base intensely masculine and sensual. It is no longer listed by Trussardi, and at least one specialist shop now files it among sold-out and discontinued scents, though a few retailers still hold remaining stock.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Trussardi stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Cognac and leather make this a richer, spicier choice than most fresh aromatic scents. Tonka brings sweetness to the drydown, and the geranium heart has a green, slightly bitter side worth knowing about if herbal notes are not to your taste.

Is Trussardi Uomo The Red discontinued?

It no longer appears in Trussardi's perfume range, and at least one specialist retailer lists it among sold-out and discontinued scents. Trussardi itself has made no announcement that we could find.

Is this the same as Trussardi Ruby Red?

No. Ruby Red is a women's fragrance and is still sold. This page is Trussardi Uomo The Red, the men's flanker from 2016.

Is Trussardi Uomo The Red coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Trussardi that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
