Uomo Absolut, inspired by Ermenegildo Zegna Uomo Absolute (2014)

Uomo Absolute opens cool and aromatic: cardamom and mint over Calabrian bergamot and lemon. The heart is drier, led by vetiver and cedar with sage, plus hedione, a jasmine-derived material that gives an airy, transparent floral lift. Amber and vanilla then sweeten the woody base, held in check by musk. Overall it reads dark and distinctly masculine.

About the original

Zegna launched Uomo Absolute in 2014 as a flanker of Zegna Uomo, the 2013 fragrance by Alberto Morillas. Who composed the Absolute version is not documented in the sources we checked, and its concentration is unclear. Wearers report difficulty finding it, and one notes that Zegna has dropped its older fragrances.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Ermenegildo Zegna stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who likes fresh aromatics but wants more weight and darkness than the usual citrus-vetiver formula will find it fits. The vanilla and amber base adds sweetness, which fans of strictly dry, green scents may not enjoy.

Is Zegna Uomo Absolute still made?

Wearers report that it has become difficult to find and that Zegna has retired its older fragrances. Zegna has not commented on its status.

Is Ermenegildo Zegna Uomo Absolut coming back?
