Hero, inspired by Burberry Hero Eau de Toilette (2021)

Hero is mostly cedar. Burberry blends three cedarwood oils, from Virginia, the Atlas Mountains and the Himalayas, and the wood carries the scent from start to finish. Juniper adds a gin-like, piney freshness and black pepper a little bite, while bergamot keeps the top clear. Nothing in it is gourmand or sugary.

About the original

Burberry launched Hero in summer 2021 as an eau de toilette, with Adam Driver as the face of the campaign. Launch coverage names Aurélien Guichard as the perfumer. Burberry presented juniper as a classic British ingredient and the cedar trio as the backbone of the scent. The line has since grown to include an Eau de Parfum built on incense and benzoin, plus Parfum, Parfum Intense and Elixir versions; this page is the original eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Burberry stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Woody and fresh at once, Hero sits between a citrus cologne and a darker cedar scent. It tends to suit men who find many modern designer fragrances too sweet. Buyers looking for vanilla or amber will not find it here.

Which Burberry Hero is this based on?

Our reference is the original Hero eau de toilette from 2021. The Hero Eau de Parfum (incense, benzoin and pine) and the Parfum versions are different compositions.

Is Hero sweet?

No. It is built on cedarwood, juniper and black pepper with bergamot on top, and has no gourmand notes.
