Intense Homme, inspired by Dior Homme Intense (2007)

Iris carries this scent from beginning to end, with the powdery, buttery, slightly earthy smell the root is prized for. Lavender opens it briefly, and a pear note adds a pale fruitiness that is easy to miss. Ambrette, a seed with a musky, faintly fruity scent, sits beneath the iris and gives it a musky depth. Cedar and vetiver frame the base in wood.

About the original

Dior Homme Intense first appeared in 2007 as a richer version of Dior Homme (2005). It was reworked in 2011 for more intensity, a revision credited to François Demachy, and that later formula is the one Dior sells today as an Eau de Parfum Intense. Dior likens wearing it to a well-cut suit, and its description centres on Tuscan iris with an ambery facet over precious woods.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dior stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Formal evenings and cooler weather show it at its best, which fits Dior's suit comparison. The iris is powdery and quite dense, so men who dislike powder may find it heavy. No fresh citrus element is there to lighten it.

Yes. Iris is powdery by nature and dominates the scent, rounded by ambrette's musk and dried by cedar.
