Flower, inspired by Kenzo Flower by Kenzo (2000)

Kenzo built Flower around the poppy, a bloom with almost no scent of its own, and imagined what it might smell like. The answer is powder: Parma violet and rose give a lipstick-like floral that feels close and comforting. Pink pepper adds a small spark at the start, and fuller note lists also mention blackcurrant and hawthorn. As it settles, white musk and vanilla take over, with a faint trace of incense keeping the sweetness in check.

About the original

Flower by Kenzo was launched in 2000 and composed by Alberto Morillas. Kenzo calls it a powdery floral and still sells the eau de parfum, now also in a refillable 100 ml bottle. It has spawned many flankers, among them Flower L'Elixir, L'Absolue and Poppy Bouquet, each with its own formula. The name is sometimes confused with Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, an unrelated fragrance.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kenzo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Powder is the point here, which makes it a natural pick for lovers of violet and a cosy, cosmetic finish. If powdery perfumes strike you as stuffy, this one will too.

Pink pepper, mandarin and blackcurrant give a brief, slightly tart lift before the flowers take over.

Violet and rose dominate the heart, with jasmine and opoponax, a balsamic resin, adding depth and a hint of sweetness.

The drydown is white musk and vanilla with a thin thread of incense.

The original eau de parfum from 2000. Flower L'Elixir is a separate flanker, which we also make.

Is Flower by Kenzo very powdery?

Yes. Powder is its main character, from violet and rose over white musk and vanilla.

Is it related to Flowerbomb?

No. Flowerbomb is a Viktor & Rolf fragrance with a different composition.
