Intenso, inspired by Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso (2014)

Intenso begins clean and herbal, with lavender, basil and a cool aquatic note. The middle is where it gets interesting: tobacco leaf, hay and bran absolute give it a dry, toasted, cereal-like tone. Running through this is the Moepel accord, which is based on South African milkwood. Labdanum, sandalwood and cypress finish it on a resinous, woody note.

About the original

Intenso arrived in November 2014 as an eau de parfum flanker of Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme, with Colin Farrell as its face. The brand's own page still calls it Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme Intenso and classes it as a woody fougère. The perfumer is usually given as Clément Gavarry, a credit from a fragrance database rather than the brand. Despite the similar names, it is unrelated to The One Intense or K Intense.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dolce & Gabbana stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Clean and understated, it is often described as versatile. Some noses read the opening as soapy. It is neither heavy nor sweet, so a buyer expecting a dense, rich eau de parfum may be disappointed by its style.

Is Intenso the same as The One Intense?

No. Intenso belongs to the Dolce&Gabbana Pour Homme line, while The One Intense is a flanker of The One. They are different fragrances.

Is it soapy?

The lavender and aquatic opening comes across as soapy to some wearers. The heart is drier and more tobacco-led.
