Spicebomb

Spicebomb, inspired by Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb (2012)

Spicebomb is built on two opposing accords. One is icy and sparkling, made of bergamot and grapefruit with elemi (a lemony, peppery resin) and pink pepper. The other is fiery, with chilli and saffron sharpened by cinnamon. Once the two settle together, tobacco and leather take over, with vetiver adding a dry, slightly smoky finish.

About the original

Olivier Polge created Spicebomb for Viktor&Rolf in 2012 as the masculine counterpart to Flowerbomb. The grenade-shaped bottle makes the point plainly. Several flankers followed, among them Spicebomb Extreme in 2015, Night Vision and Infrared, while this page is based on the original eau de toilette.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Viktor&Rolf stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

It is generally regarded as an autumn and winter scent. The spice is pronounced and the tobacco-leather base is dry, so it rewards someone who wants character over sweetness; a buyer hoping for a vanilla-heavy scent will find Spicebomb Extreme closer to that.

How is Spicebomb different from Spicebomb Extreme?

Spicebomb (2012) is the original eau de toilette, with a cold citrus opening and a dry tobacco-leather base. Extreme (2015) is an eau de parfum that adds vanilla and lavender for a deeper, sweeter result.

Is Spicebomb sweet?

Only moderately. Cinnamon brings some sweetness, but the base stays dry with tobacco and leather.
