Aventus, inspired by Creed Aventus (2010)

Aventus pairs fruit with smoke. Bergamot and lemon open it with a citrus snap, blackcurrant leaf adds a green tartness, and a pineapple accord follows, which Creed names alongside bergamot and birch as the core of the scent. Birch provides the smoky, slightly leathery thread that runs underneath, while patchouli and musk keep the base dry rather than sweet.

About the original

Creed released Aventus in September 2010 and tied it to the house's 250th anniversary. Wikipedia classes it as a fruity chypre. Its flankers include Aventus for Her (2016), Aventus Cologne (2019) and the spicier Absolu Aventus, first issued in 2023. It has drawn criticism for differences in smell and strength from one batch to the next.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who like fruit in a fragrance but not sugar are its natural wearers, since the smoke and woods keep it grown-up. The birch adds a smoky edge, so anyone after a clean, purely citrus scent may prefer something else.

This page is the original men's Aventus from 2010. Aventus for Her (2016) is a separate scent with green apple and rose, and we make it too.

Does Aventus smell of pineapple?

Yes. A pineapple accord is one of its listed heart notes, set over birch and patchouli, so the effect is fruity-woody rather than tropical.

How is it different from Absolu Aventus?

Absolu Aventus, first released in 2023, adds cardamom, cinnamon and labdanum for a spicier, deeper take. Aventus keeps the fresher citrus and blackcurrant leaf opening.
