Cherry Smoke, inspired by Tom Ford Cherry Smoke (2023)

Cherry Smoke puts dark cherry and saffron side by side, so the fruit arrives with a dry, leathery spice already attached. Osmanthus follows, a flower with apricot, olive and leather facets, and a smoked wood accord makes the whole thing smoulder. In the base, olibanum (frankincense) and Peru balsam meet cypriol, an earthy root oil, giving a resinous, smoky depth.

About the original

Tom Ford announced Cherry Smoke in January 2023 together with Electric Cherry, expanding the cherry line that began with Lost Cherry in 2018. Some databases date it to 2022. The brand calls it a smouldering cherry scent, and at launch positioned it as the darker, evening-leaning option of the two new releases. No perfumer has been publicly credited in the sources we checked.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Tom Ford stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Smoke is central rather than decorative, which separates it clearly from Lost Cherry's candied sweetness. The fruit is still there, but leather tones and woods take over in the drydown. Buyers expecting a sugary cherry may be surprised by how smoky it ends.
