Cherry In The Air, inspired by Escada Cherry in the Air (2013)

Tart sour cherry and raspberry give a mouth-watering start, with mandarin adding a little zest. The sugar arrives quickly as marshmallow and vanilla, fluffy rather than syrupy, with gardenia and orchid woven through. Many wearers pick up a powdery, almond-like facet, the kind that makes cherry smell like a bakewell tart. White suede, sandalwood and musk, with a touch of oak, dry it down into something smoother and less candied.

About the original

Cherry in the Air was Escada's summer limited edition for 2013, themed around French orchards and cherry picking. Fragrance databases do not credit a perfumer. Born in Paradise replaced it as the 2014 summer edition, and Escada returned to cherry in 2021 with the lighter, floral Cherry in Japan. The 2013 edition was produced for its season only and has been discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Escada stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Gourmand lovers who like marshmallow and vanilla will feel at home here, and it works on spring and summer days despite the sugar. The powdery almond tone may read as cloying to anyone who prefers crisp fruit.

No. Cherry in the Air (2013) is a sweet gourmand with marshmallow and vanilla; Cherry in Japan (2021) is a lighter cherry-blossom floral.

Many wearers notice a powdery, almond-like side that comes through with the cherry and vanilla.

Is it still made?

No. It was a limited edition for summer 2013.

Is Escada Cherry In The Air coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Escada about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
