Ingenious Ginger, inspired by Goldfield & Banks Ingenious Ginger (2023)

Mandarin and the ginger-flower accord arrive together, fizzy and zesty, with a spice that tingles rather than burns. Magnolia and neroli then bring a clean white-floral middle. The base is amber and Australian sandalwood with a little vanilla, which rounds off the citrus without making it heavy. Goldfield & Banks calls it a radiant floral amber.

About the original

Ingenious Ginger belongs to the Native Collection of Goldfield & Banks, an Australian niche house, and was released in 2023. It takes its cue from the torch ginger lily that grows on Queensland's Atherton Tablelands. The perfume is usually credited to Hamid Merati-Kashani. The brand's own botanical list also mentions bergamot and vanilla alongside the main notes.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Goldfield & Banks stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Citrus lovers who find plain colognes too thin may like the floral and amber body here. Magnolia and neroli are clearly floral, so those wanting a purely spicy ginger scent should know the flowers take up much of the heart.
