Yuzu Zest, inspired by Jo Malone London Yuzu Zest Cologne (2024)

Yuzu, a Japanese citrus somewhere between grapefruit and mandarin, opens with a fizzy, mouthwatering zest. Clary sage adds an herbal, slightly musky note that keeps it from feeling like plain lemonade. Fir balsam then lends a resinous, pine-like depth, and cedarwood settles it into a clean, dry wood.

About the original

Yuzu Zest first appeared in early 2024 in Jo Malone London's Blossoms collection, alongside Sunlit Cherimoya and Yellow Hibiscus. One perfume writer suggested it reworks the brand's 2020 Yuja cologne. It is unrelated to Acqua di Parma Yuzu or Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Yuzu.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of fizzy citrus will take to it, and the brand positions it as a summer scent. The fir and cedar base gives it more structure than a pure citrus splash, which may feel too woody for someone wanting only fruit.
