On The Beach

On The Beach, inspired by Louis Vuitton On the Beach (2021)

Yuzu opens On the Beach, tart and slightly floral, as this Japanese citrus tends to be. Neroli, distilled from bitter orange blossom, follows with a clean floral tone. Cypress then brings what LV calls 'woody shade', resinous and green, while thyme and rosemary, named in launch coverage, add a sun-dried, herbal quality.

About the original

Released on 1 April 2021 through louisvuitton.com and selected stores, On the Beach was described at launch as the fifth unisex scent in Louis Vuitton's cologne line. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud composed it, and artist Alex Israel decorated the bottle and box with a sunset gradient. Although it belongs to the cologne line, launch reports give its concentration as eau de parfum. LV now places it in its California collection.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Louis Vuitton stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Hot weather is where it makes sense, and LV positions it as a summer beach scent. Wearers expecting a coconut, suntan-lotion style of beach perfume will find it drier and more herbal.

Is On the Beach a cologne?

It is part of Louis Vuitton's cologne line, but launch reports list the original as an eau de parfum. Ours is an eau de parfum too.

Does On the Beach smell of coconut or sunscreen?

No. It is a citrus and herbal scent of yuzu, neroli and cypress, with no coconut among its listed notes.
