Lost in Paris, inspired by Roja Parfums Lost in Paris (2024)

Lost in Paris begins like an orange liqueur being poured over a pan of hot caramel. Blood orange, bitter orange and mandarin give the first spray a zesty, almost marmalade bitterness, and rum with Grand Marnier makes it boozy. The citrus then melts into caramelised sugar and a butter accord, which reads as something baked and glossy. Pink pepper, cinnamon and clove spice the base, where cedarwood, cashmere wood, vanilla, ambergris and musk hold the sweetness together.

About the original

Roja Dove released Lost in Paris in 2024 under Roja Parfums, the London niche house that now trades as Roja London. The brand sells it as a parfum, although at least one fragrance reference lists it as an eau de parfum. Retail copy describes it as an 'oriental vanilla' with a velvety woody base. A diffuser with the same name also exists, so check which product a listing refers to.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Roja Parfums stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its sweetness is pronounced from start to finish, so it belongs with dessert-lovers rather than minimalists. Admirers of boozy gourmands will understand the style. The citrus is a curtain-raiser, giving way to caramel within the first stretch of wear.

Roja sells the original as a parfum (100 ml). Our version is an eau de parfum.

Does Lost in Paris smell boozy?

Yes, at the start. Rum and Grand Marnier sit with the orange notes before caramel and butter take over.
