Elysium Pour Homme Parfum, inspired by Roja Parfums Elysium Pour Homme (2017)

Elysium starts in a classic citrus-aromatic register, with lavender, thyme and artemisia (a bitter, sage-like herb) cutting through lemon and grapefruit. Apple and blackcurrant soon give it fruit, and juniper berry adds a gin-like crispness. The floral heart of lily of the valley, rose and jasmine stays in the background. Underneath, cedarwood and vetiver hold the shape, with pink pepper adding sparkle and leather, labdanum and ambergris giving a smooth finish.

About the original

Roja's product page dates Elysium Pour Homme to 2017. It was first sold as a Parfum Cologne and is now offered as a 50 ml Parfum and a 100 ml Eau de Parfum; our reference is the Parfum. The Elysium name has since grown into a family that includes Pour Femme, Eau Intense, Noir and Absolue, each a separate scent. Roja describes the Pour Homme as a woody citrus.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Roja Parfums stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Roja markets it to men as a fresh everyday scent. It suits someone who likes the clean lift of citrus and lavender but wants fruit and woods behind it. Wearers who dislike apple or blackcurrant in a masculine scent may find the heart too fruity.
