Maraschino, inspired by Sospiro Maraschino (2024)

Cherry is the headline, paired with almond so that the opening recalls cherry liqueur and marzipan. Strawberry, peach and apple add a mixed-fruit juiciness. Jasmine sambac and rose sit in the heart, while heliotrope and mimosa add a powdery, almondy floral tone. Vanilla, tonka and sandalwood make the base plush, with vetiver and patchouli adding a faint earthy anchor.

About the original

Sospiro launched Maraschino in 2024, and the composition is generally credited to Christian Provenzano. Maraschino is the name of a cherry liqueur, and the cherry-almond pairing is its clearest feature. One shop blog gave a citrus-floral note list at launch, but retailers and a fragrance reference agree on the cherry pyramid used here. No flankers have been found.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Sospiro stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Romantic rather than serious, it is a fruity floral that leans on cherry and powder. Powder and almond run right through it, so a darker, smokier cherry this is not.

Is Maraschino very sweet?

It is sweet and powdery, with fruit up top and vanilla and tonka underneath. The vetiver and patchouli add only a light dry edge.
