Pineapple, inspired by Dolce & Gabbana Fruit Collection Pineapple (2020)

Pineapple is the headline here, a juicy, slightly tangy accord the brand says was built with its Smell-the-Taste technology. Sicilian mandarin adds a zesty citrus lift next to it. Jasmine sambac and orchid give the heart a smooth floral body. Underneath, vanilla absolute and amber sweeten the base, while a little moss adds a faint earthy contrast.

About the original

Dolce & Gabbana announced its Fruit Collection in February 2020 with three Eaux de Toilette: Lemon, Orange and Pineapple. Pineapple was created by Marie Salamagne and sold only in a 150 ml bottle with a fruit-shaped cap inspired by Sicilian architecture. The collection was sold without a gender label and positioned above the brand's main lines. All three Fruit Collection scents are no longer listed in the official range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dolce & Gabbana stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Retailers present it as a light, cheerful scent for casual spring and summer days. The pineapple and vanilla make it noticeably sweet, so anyone who prefers dry or green citrus may find it too sugary.

The opening is all fruit: a tropical pineapple accord with Sicilian mandarin brightening it.

Jasmine sambac and orchid take over in the heart, smooth and gently floral.

Vanilla absolute and amber sweeten the drydown, with moss giving a faint earthy contrast.

Is Dolce & Gabbana Pineapple discontinued?

It no longer appears in Dolce & Gabbana's fragrance range, along with the rest of the Fruit Collection. The brand has not made an announcement, and a retailer lists the 150 ml as sold out.

Is it a men's or women's scent?

Dolce & Gabbana sold the Fruit Collection without a gender label, so it can be worn by anyone.

How sweet is it?

Fairly sweet. The pineapple accord leads and vanilla sits in the base, though mandarin and moss keep some freshness.

Is Dolce & Gabbana Pineapple coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Dolce & Gabbana that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
