Moon Tale, inspired by Louis Vuitton Moon Tale (2025)

Raspberry gives Moon Tale a tart, pinkish start before the flowers take over. Its heart is a peony accord, built because the peony itself yields almost no usable oil, joined by magnolia, jasmine sambac and a leafy, slightly minty geranium. Musks hold everything together at the base and leave a powdery finish reminiscent of cosmetics. The fruit works as a garnish here, while the flowers and powder do the real work.

About the original

Moon Tale was introduced in 2025 as one of three scents in a Louis Vuitton collection created for China and at first sold only there alongside Rain Tea and Ink Mark. In 2026 Louis Vuitton released the trio more widely as part of its Perfumes of the World collection, where Rain Tea now goes by the name Tea Storm. The scent draws on the Chinese legend of the Four Beauties, and the bottle colours reference tian-tsui, a traditional Chinese jewellery craft. Louis Vuitton names Jacques Cavallier Belletrud as the perfumer; some press reports also credit his daughter Camille.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Louis Vuitton stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A wearer who reaches for lipstick-and-powder florals will recognise the style straight away. It is soft and airy in texture rather than lush. Powder dominates the drydown, so it may feel too cosmetic to someone wanting a clean, modern musk.
