Fleur Narcotique, inspired by Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique (2014)

Despite the name, Fleur Narcotique is not a dense, indolic white floral. Bergamot and lychee open it with a fizzy, fruity sparkle, and peach adds a fleshy roundness. The heart is a peony-led bouquet (the current note list names Petalia, a captive molecule with a peony character) with jasmine and orange blossom. It dries down to musk, transparent woods and a little moss, staying light and clean throughout.

About the original

Quentin Bisch created Fleur Narcotique for Ex Nihilo, which calls it a 'Floral Overdose', and it is widely cited as the house's best-known fragrance. It is usually dated to 2014. The line has since grown to include an Extrait de Parfum, a shower gel, body lotion, hand cream and a candle. Older listings name peony in the heart where the brand now lists Petalia.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Ex Nihilo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of fruity florals that stay transparent will find a lot to like. Lychee and peach make it noticeably fruity, which can feel too sweet or too pretty to someone who wants a green or austere floral.

Is this the eau de parfum or the extrait?

The original Fleur Narcotique Eau de Parfum from 2014. Ex Nihilo's later Extrait de Parfum adds osmanthus and freesia and uses oakmoss and sandalwood in the base; we also make a version inspired by it.

Is Fleur Narcotique a heavy white floral?

No. Jasmine and orange blossom are there, but lychee, peach and peony keep it fruity and airy rather than narcotic.
