The Story Behind the Scent

When Louis Vuitton returned to perfumery in 2016, it hired master perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud and gave him the freedom and the budget to work with the finest materials. Apogée was part of that first collection, and it set out to capture lily of the valley, a flower that famously cannot be extracted and must be recreated by hand.

Fresh lily of the valley and magnolia open it green and dewy, jasmine, rose and ylang ylang give a soft, luminous floral heart, and a base of musk and sandalwood keeps it clean and smooth. The result is a bright, elegant white floral that feels like a spring garden, refined and easy to wear.

How Our Version Compares to the Original

We do not claim this is identical, because no interpretation is. What we have built follows the same white floral signature of the original, rebuilt at up to 40% perfume oil so it projects clearly early on and lingers longer than a typical spray. A little goes a long way.
