Aldehydes open it with a clean, slightly soapy sparkle above the rose. Rose then takes the centre, with geranium adding a green, faintly minty edge. Orris, the dried root of the iris, brings a cool, powdery tone that grows as the scent settles. The base is musk, which the brand describes as sweet and powdery.

About the original

Al Haramain sells Wardia as a concentrated oil and markets it as unisex. Its notes follow Al Haramain's own listing. The name is easily mixed up with Al Haramain Wardi, a separate women's oil; this page is about Wardia. No launch year has been documented.

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Al Haramain stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its rose leans powdery rather than fresh, with orris and a sweet musk softening it as it dries. A buyer hoping for a green or dewy rose may not take to the powder, or to the soapy start the aldehydes give.
