Mimosa & Cardamom, inspired by Jo Malone London Mimosa & Cardamom Cologne (2015)

Cardamom opens it with a cool, green spice, more aromatic than hot. Mimosa then spreads out, honeyed and slightly powdery, the way the yellow puffball flowers smell in late winter. Tonka bean, which has an almond and hay-like sweetness, sits beneath with sandalwood, while heliotrope and Damask rose add a cosmetic softness. The whole thing feels cushioned and calm.

About the original

Mimosa & Cardamom joined Jo Malone London's main cologne range in September 2015 in the UK, launched with matching body and home products. It is credited to the perfumer Marie Salamagne. The brand pairs a fresh spice with a sweet flower here, and it is still part of the current cologne line.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Comfort is the main register, so it suits wearers who like quiet, cosy florals. The tonka and heliotrope bring some sweetness and powder. If either of those is a dislike, the drydown may feel too plush.
