White Lilac & Rhubarb, inspired by Jo Malone London White Lilac & Rhubarb Cologne (2012)

Rhubarb sets the tone with a tart, stalky sourness that keeps the florals from turning sugary. White lilac follows, cool and slightly powdery, with rose filling it out. Heliotrope, a flower that smells of almond and face powder, gives the finish a gentle, powdered sweetness.

About the original

Christine Nagel created White Lilac & Rhubarb for London Blooms, a limited-edition collection Jo Malone London released in March 2012 alongside Peony & Moss and Iris & Lady Moore. The packaging carried vintage-style botanical illustrations. As a limited edition it is no longer produced. Jo Malone London has since used the name for a decorative candle, which is a home product, not this cologne.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of lilac and garden florals will like how the rhubarb keeps it lively. That rhubarb is distinctive, and not everyone enjoys its sour, vegetal side.

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Jo Malone London about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
