Dalissime, inspired by Salvador Dali Dalissime (1994)

Dalissime is a fruit bowl at first: peach and apricot lead, with pineapple and plum adding a tropical, slightly jammy depth. The flowers arrive underneath, jasmine and rose joined by marigold and narcissus. As it dries down the mood turns powdery and balsamic, with vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood. Lychee and musk keep a faint fruity glow in the base.

About the original

Parfums Salvador Dali released Dalissime in 1994 to mark the centenary of the birth of Gala, Dalí's wife and muse, taking inspiration from a Vogue cover of that year featuring one of his paintings. Mark Buxton is usually credited as the perfumer. It has been issued as an eau de toilette and as an Eau de Parfum Concentrée, and a Gala limited-edition bottle appeared in 2005. This page takes the eau de toilette as its reference.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Salvador Dali (Parfums Salvador Dali, Cofinluxe/COFCI) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Autumn and winter suit it best, according to wearer reviews. It is plush and sugary rather than crisp, so fans of citrus or green florals may find it cloying. Powder and balsam make the base feel rounded rather than airy.

Is Dalissime still made?

We have not been able to confirm whether Parfums Salvador Dali still produces it, as no official brand listing could be found.

Is Dalissime very sweet?

Yes, it is sweeter and fuller than Laguna, another Dali scent we make. Jasmine and rose sit under the fruit, and the base is powdery and balsamic.

Which version is this based on?

The original eau de toilette is the reference. Dalissime was also sold as an Eau de Parfum Concentrée, which was not used. Our version is an eau de parfum.
