Pear opens it, fresh and slightly crunchy, alongside ambrette, a plant-based musk with a soft, almost fruity warmth. Turkish rose and orris give the heart a velvety, faintly powdery texture. In the drydown cedarwood and Madagascar vanilla lay down a creamy, woody base, with the ambrette musk still running through.

About the original

God Is a Woman launched online in the US on 29 July 2021 and reached stores on 1 August. Jérôme Epinette of Robertet composed it, and the brand marketed it as vegan, cruelty-free and 91% naturally derived. Ariana Grande's own fragrance site presents natural ambrette musk as its defining ingredient. It is a standalone scent, not a flanker of Cloud or Ari.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Ariana Grande stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Next to the coconut and macaron sugar of Thank U, Next it is far less sweet, which suits someone wary of gourmands. The orris and musk can feel a little powdery, so a buyer who wants a sparkling fruity floral may find it too muted.
