Hyperbole, inspired by Courrèges Hyperbole (2016)

Hyperbole sets white pepper, dry and slightly floral, against bergamot in its opening. Tobacco flower, the blossom of the tobacco plant, smells honeyed and hay-like rather than smoky, and it sits beside tonka bean in the heart. Cocoa, vanilla and patchouli then give the base a dark, gourmand depth.

About the original

Courrèges launched Hyperbole as an Eau de Parfum in 2016, with Antoine Lie and Jean Jacques credited as its perfumers. The name comes from the house's 1970 ready-to-wear line. Courrèges presented it as a provocatively feminine take on tobacco and pepper, notes traditionally linked to men's fragrances. It is a separate scent from the later Hyper Cuir, Hyper Musc and Hyper Oud (2023) and Hyper Iris (2024).

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Courrèges stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who likes tobacco and spice but wants them sweetened will enjoy it most. The cocoa and vanilla give a gourmand richness, so this is a denser scent than a fresh floral. Wearers who dislike sweet bases or chocolate notes should approach with caution.

The documented tobacco note is tobacco flower, a material that usually reads honeyed and floral rather than like burning leaf, and no smoky note is listed.

Is Hyperbole related to Courrèges Hyper Cuir or Hyper Iris?

No. Those belong to a later collection from 2023 and 2024. Hyperbole is the 2016 Eau de Parfum.
