Angel Garden Of Stars Violette Angel, inspired by Mugler Angel Garden of Stars Violette Angel (2005)

Violette Angel takes the familiar Angel skeleton and dusts it with violet. Its opening is sugared, with violet leaf and hyacinth giving a green, slightly cool counterpoint to the sweetness. Violet itself, powdery and candied, fills the heart over a thin layer of woods. Underneath, patchouli and vanilla anchor it as they do in Angel, though here they feel less dense, with a touch of oakmoss for depth.

About the original

Violette Angel was one of four floral flankers in Mugler's Angel Garden of Stars series of 2005, alongside Pivoine, Le Lys and La Rose. Françoise Caron is credited with the composition. The series came out as limited editions, and Violette Angel is no longer produced.

Our version

When we make it, ours will be an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It will not be Mugler stock, an official relaunch or the original formula.

Who it suits

Angel fans are the obvious audience, particularly those who find the original too loud. The overall feel is cosy and romantic, a powdery sweetness with a floral edge. Sugar and powder are both prominent, so it will not convert someone who already dislikes gourmand scents.

No. It was a limited edition in the 2005 Angel Garden of Stars series and is no longer produced.

It keeps Angel's patchouli and vanilla base but adds violet and hyacinth, so it is more powdery and floral and less dense.
