Armani Code Turquoise, inspired by Armani Code Turquoise for Women (2015)

Orange blossom is the thread through this scent, present from the first spray to the drydown. At the top it pairs with pear sorbet and neroli, the distilled oil of bitter orange flowers, so the effect is citrusy and fresh rather than heady. Jasmine and a touch of ginger add body in the middle without making it heavy. The finish is pale and clean: white woods, musk and a little vanilla.

About the original

Armani issued Code Turquoise for women in 2015 as a limited summer edition of Armani Code pour Femme, in a 75 ml eau de toilette. A men's Code Turquoise was released alongside it, and the two are separate fragrances. It was never part of the permanent range and is no longer produced. Note lists for it vary between databases, so the pyramid below follows the launch information.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Hot weather is where this was meant to live, and it shows. It reads as transparent and easy, a daytime floral rather than an evening statement. A heavy vanilla base or real depth is not on offer here, so winter wearers may find it too slight.

The opening pairs icy pear sorbet with neroli and orange blossom, giving a fresh citrus-floral lift.

Jasmine joins the orange blossom in the heart, and ginger adds a mild spicy warmth.

It dries down to white woods and musk, with vanilla taking the edge off without adding real sweetness.

Was Armani Code Turquoise a limited edition?

Yes. The women's version was a limited summer edition in 2015 and is no longer produced.

Is this the men's or the women's Code Turquoise?

The women's. The men's Code Turquoise from the same summer is a different fragrance.

How is it different from Code Satin?

Turquoise is the light orange blossom version for summer. Code Satin, also from 2015, is much sweeter, with praline and cocoa in the base.

Is Armani Code Turquoise coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Giorgio Armani about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
