Bad Boys Are No Good But Good Boys Are No Fun, inspired by Kilian Paris Boys (2018)

The idea is cola, and it is easy to recognise. Lime supplies the fizz, while cinnamon and nutmeg give the spiced, slightly sweet body of the drink. It reads fresh rather than sticky. Cedarwood forms a dry, pencil-shaving base that stops the cola from turning into a dessert.

About the original

Boys launched in August 2018 at Sephora as one of four scents in By Kilian's My Kind of Love collection, alongside Princess, Kissing and Adults. The line was aimed at millennials, and Kilian described Boys as 'very sexy and very fresh'. Launch coverage did not name the perfumer. Surrender to Chance reported that the collection was discontinued in spring 2021, though Princess survived and remains on sale. Now Smell This reports that the scent was reissued in 2024 as Born to be Unforgettable, but Kilian's own page for that perfume does not mention Boys.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Kilian Paris (formerly By Kilian) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Despite sitting in our women's range, it reads as unisex to slightly masculine. The cola theme is literal, so it rewards someone who enjoys a novelty note more than a lover of classic florals. Cinnamon gives a noticeable spice, but the overall feel stays fresh.

Lime opens it with a sparkling, sour freshness that sets up the cola effect.

Is Kilian Boys discontinued?

It no longer appears in Kilian's range under this name. The My Kind of Love collection was reported discontinued in 2021, apart from Princess.

Is Born to be Unforgettable the same perfume?

Now Smell This reports it as a 2024 reissue of Boys, and it also uses a cola accord. Kilian has not said they are the same, so we treat them as separate perfumes.

Is it a women's perfume?

Kilian sells it as unisex, and its cola and cedar profile leans slightly masculine. We list it under women's perfumes.
