O De L'Orangerie

O De L'Orangerie, inspired by Lancôme Ô de l'Orangerie (2011)

The orange tree supplies almost everything here: zest from the fruit, orange blossom and neroli from the flowers. Neroli is distilled from the same blossom but smells greener and more bitter than orange blossom itself, and the two side by side give the heart its depth. A watery note keeps the opening cool. Benzoin, a vanilla-tinged resin, and woody notes give the finish a gentle, resinous sweetness.

About the original

Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion composed Ô de l'Orangerie, which Lancôme released in spring 2011 as a flanker of Ô de Lancôme (1969). It followed Ô d'Azur from 2010 and launched as a 75 ml Eau de Toilette. Lancôme presented it as a walk in the shade of orange trees in a French garden. The scent is absent from the product listings on Lancôme's 'Le Monde des Ô' page, although the page text still mentions it.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Lancôme stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Neroli and cologne lovers will feel at home here. It is best in spring and summer, and its fresh, citrus-led character offers little to a buyer who wants a sweet or resinous scent.

It dries down to benzoin and woody notes, a quietly sweet, resinous finish with the orange flower still traceable.

Is Lancôme Ô de l'Orangerie discontinued?

It is no longer listed among the products in Lancôme's Ô range online, although the brand's page text still mentions it. Some retailers still sell stock.

Is this related to Dries Van Noten Jardin de l'Orangerie?

No. This page is Lancôme's Ô de l'Orangerie from 2011, an orange-blossom citrus. Jardin de l'Orangerie is a different Dries Van Noten scent, which we also make.

Is Lancôme O De L'Orangerie coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Lancôme that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
