Black XS L'Aphrodisiaque For Him, inspired by Paco Rabanne Black XS L'Aphrodisiaque for Men (2013)

Spice comes first, cinnamon with the dusty, faintly bitter tone of saffron. Honey then pours in, sticky and golden, with orange blossom and cypress giving it a floral lift and a resinous green line. In the base, praline and almond turn it gourmand, and leather adds enough grit to keep it from becoming pure confection.

About the original

Olivier Cresp composed the men's L'Aphrodisiaque, released by Paco Rabanne (now Rabanne) in July 2013 as a 100 ml limited edition. Its women's counterpart came out at the same time. It was classed as an eau de toilette intense. It has nothing to do with Black XS L'Excès or Black XS Los Angeles, and bottles were reportedly scarce in the US even at launch.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Paco Rabanne (now Rabanne) stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who find the original Black XS too restrained will notice how much sweeter and denser this is. Evenings, clubbing and cooler weather are where it fits. The honey and praline are prominent, so anyone wary of gourmand sweetness should approach with care.

Was L'Aphrodisiaque for Men a limited edition?

Yes. It came out in July 2013 as a limited edition and is no longer produced.

How does it compare with the original Black XS?

It is sweeter and cosier than the 2005 Black XS, mainly because of the honey, praline and almond.

Does it smell of honey?

Yes, honey is the central note in the heart, backed by cinnamon and praline, so it reads as distinctly sweet.

Is Paco Rabanne (now Rabanne) Black XS L'Aphrodisiaque For Him coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Paco Rabanne (now Rabanne) about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
