Coffee Break, inspired by Maison Margiela Replica Coffee Break (2019)

Roasted coffee arrives first, though apple and lemon make it fresher and fruitier than a straight espresso note. Lavender and spearmint then bring an aromatic coolness, and the house classes it as 'Fougère Tasty'. Orange blossom eases the transition. Underneath lies a milk-mousse accord, like the foam on a cappuccino, over sandalwood and cedarwood.

About the original

Coffee Break came out in mid-2019, launched alongside Springtime in a Park. Its memory label reads 'Stockholm, 2007', and Maison Margiela describes it as a comforting coffee-shop pause on a winter day. No perfumer is named on the brand page. The same name is used for a Replica candle, but ours takes the eau de toilette as its reference.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Maison Margiela stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Coffee is the reason to buy it, yet the lavender is just as noticeable, which keeps it from being purely sweet. The mint and lavender heart can surprise anyone expecting a plain latte.

Not purely sweet. Lavender and spearmint keep it aromatic, and the sweetness comes mainly from the milky base.
