Dolce Floral Drops
39,00 €
D&G’s discontinued 2015 lighter Dolce flanker. Papaya flower and neroli over white amaryllis, daffodil and water lily, on a sandalwood musk base. Rebuilt at 40 percent oil.
The Discontinued Light Dolce Flanker, 2015
Dolce Floral Drops launched in 2015 as a lighter, fresher interpretation of the 2014 Dolce feminine. The brief was a polished daytime version of the original built around papaya flower and neroli at the opening, white amaryllis, daffodil and water lily at the heart, and a base of sandalwood and musk. Where the original Dolce reads as a fuller modern white floral, Floral Drops pulled in a brighter eau de toilette direction designed for warmer weather and casual occasions. Dolce & Gabbana has since retired Floral Drops from the active Dolce Collection, leaving the bright daytime version as a discontinued flanker on resale platforms. Our interpretation respects the lighter character.
How It Smells
The opening is bright and slightly tropical, papaya flower leading with its juicy slightly fruity floral character (the trademark Dolce note), neroli adding a honeyed white floral citrus support, and a quiet sparkling brightness threading through the early phase. Within fifteen minutes the floral heart unfolds: white amaryllis takes a leading role with its trumpet-shaped floral character, daffodil contributes a distinctive yellow floral support, water lily adds a quiet aquatic floral nuance, and a soft white floral continues threading through the middle. The base is the perfume’s polished modern anchor. Sandalwood provides creamy wood structure, musk smooths the drydown into clean modern polish, and a quiet woody character grounds the finish. The overall impression is bright luminous white floral, lighter and more daytime-friendly than the original Dolce.
The Notes
Top: papaya flower, neroli.
Heart: white amaryllis, daffodil, water lily.
Base: sandalwood, musk.
How Our Version Compares
With Floral Drops retired from the Dolce Collection, fresh stock has become harder to source through standard retail. Our European Union production at 40 percent perfume oil concentration brings the composition back at proper density, with the papaya flower neroli opening sparkling cleanly, the white floral heart holding through the wearing, and the sandalwood musk drydown lasting well into the next day on clothing.
Common Questions
How does it differ from the original Dolce?
Lighter, brighter, more daytime-friendly. The 2014 Dolce reads as a fuller modern white floral with cashmeran depth. Floral Drops pulls into eau de toilette territory with sandalwood instead of cashmeran in the base. Same Dolce family, lighter expression.
Is the original really discontinued?
Yes. D&G has streamlined the Dolce Collection over the years, retiring Floral Drops along with several other flankers. Resale platforms continue to list bottles but freshness varies.
Best season?
Spring and summer especially, when the bright white floral character reads at its best. The composition was designed for warm weather and casual daytime occasions.
How long does it last?
Six to eight hours at our concentration, with the sandalwood musk drydown lingering on clothing into the next day. The 40 percent oil approach extends the wearing significantly beyond the original eau de toilette format.
