Knot by Bottega Veneta (2014)

Released in 2014 and crafted by perfumer Daniela Andrier, Bottega Veneta Knot was named after the iconic Knot clutch and built around lavender, orange blossom, neroli, and tonka bean. Unlike the chypre-leather character of the original Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum, Knot was a sunnier, airier feminine composition inspired by fresh Italian coastal air and the scent of flowers drifting through open windows.

Knot has been discontinued along with the rest of the Coty-era Bottega Veneta perfume line. Authentic bottles are increasingly rare and now trade at premium prices on resale markets, with some Etsy sellers explicitly listing them as “Discontinued, Very Rare.” Our interpretation references the original 2014 formulation as a long-lasting Eau de Parfum, made in the EU.

Daniela Andrier is one of the most distinctive perfumers in modern fragrance, known for her minimalist Prada compositions including Infusion d’Iris and Candy. For Knot, she constructed a luminous Italian floral built around the unusual pairing of lavender and neroli, lifted by clementine and softened by tonka bean. Refined without being conventional.

How It Smells

The opening is immediately bright and luminous with neroli, orange blossom, clementine, lime, and mandarin orange that create a Mediterranean citrus-floral sparkle. There is an instant sense of Italian sunshine.

The heart introduces aromatic lavender, soft peony, and creamy white rose, creating a refined floral bouquet that distinguishes Knot from typical fruity-floral feminine fragrances.
