Miss Dior Cherie, inspired by Dior Miss Dior Chérie (2005)

Strawberry is front and centre, cold and tangy like a sorbet, with mandarin and the green snap of strawberry leaf. Within minutes it picks up a caramelised popcorn note, buttery and toasted. Violet and jasmine flit through without taking over. The drydown turns cleaner, a musky skin note with a thread of patchouli.

About the original

Christine Nagel composed Miss Dior Chérie for Dior in 2005, presenting it as a gourmand chypre, although Now Smell This found little chypre character and called it young and trendy. Several flankers followed between 2007 and 2009, including an eau de toilette, Eau de Printemps, Blooming Bouquet and L'Eau. Around 2011 to 2012 Dior renamed the line Miss Dior and reformulated it, removing the strawberry and caramel. The Chérie name no longer appears in Dior's range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Dior stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Buyers chasing the 2005 strawberry-popcorn formula, rather than today's Miss Dior, are who this is for. It is sweet and youthful, and the caramel facet is unmistakable. The popcorn is loud enough to put off anyone wary of edible notes, so sample it first if that sounds risky.

Is this the current Miss Dior?

No. It references the 2005 Miss Dior Chérie with strawberry and caramel popcorn. The current Miss Dior is a different, reformulated scent.

Is Miss Dior Chérie discontinued?

Yes, in its original form. Dior renamed it Miss Dior around 2011 to 2012 and removed the strawberry and caramel.

Is it the same as Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet?

No. Blooming Bouquet was a separate flanker, later renamed Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and still sold by Dior.

Is Miss Dior Cherie coming back?

So far, we have found no announcement from Dior that it will return. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
