The Story

Launched in 2009 and composed by Jean-Marc Chaillan, Private Collection Jasmin White Moss was the third fragrance in Aerin Lauder’s prestige Private Collection, based on an unfinished formula begun by Estée Lauder herself in the 1980s and rediscovered in the archives. A luxurious green floral chypre, it has since been discontinued, making it a sought-after rarity. Our interpretation keeps this elegant scent available.

How It Smells

This is a sleek, modern green chypre built around jasmine. It opens sharp and sparkling, with bright citrus, galbanum, and a tart cassis giving a crisp, stem-like green freshness. The heart is a clean, radiant jasmine woven with orange flower, ylang-ylang, and powdery orris, white-floral and elegant rather than indolic. As it settles, a dry base of clean oakmoss, vetiver, and patchouli, the brand’s signature white moss accord, gives a sophisticated, mossy-woody depth. Green, crisp, and refined, it is a chic jasmine chypre often compared to the great classics.

Our interpretation rebuilds Private Collection Jasmin White Moss at 40 percent perfume oil, a far higher concentration than the lighter eau de toilette and eau de parfum sprays most people know, where the actual oil content is often only a small fraction of that. Made in the EU to careful standards, it is formulated to track the character you remember while giving you stronger projection and noticeably longer wear on skin. Because the oil load is so high, a little goes a long way: one or two dabs at the pulse points is usually enough for the day, and the scent unfolds slowly through its top, heart, and base over many hours rather than burning off within the first one.
