Peony & Moss, inspired by Jo Malone London Peony & Moss Cologne (2012)

Ivy and blackcurrant lead, green and tart, with a leafy sharpness that keeps the peony from turning sweet. The flowers sit in the middle, airy rather than lush. As it settles, moss and oakmoss take over, giving the woody, slightly earthy finish of a chypre, a family built on the contrast between a fresh top and a mossy base.

About the original

Peony & Moss was one of three London Blooms colognes released in March 2012, alongside White Lilac & Rhubarb and Iris & Lady Moore. Launch coverage described the trio as limited editions. One fragrance database credits it to Christine Nagel, though we have not found that confirmed elsewhere. It is not in Jo Malone London's range today and is easily mixed up with Peony & Blush Suede, the peony cologne from 2013 that is still sold.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Lovers of green florals and older-style chypres will find it familiar. It was released for spring, and its light, leafy feel fits that. The moss gives the base a bitter, earthy tone that can seem austere next to modern fruity florals.

Is Jo Malone Peony & Moss discontinued?

Yes. It was a limited edition in the 2012 London Blooms collection and is no longer produced.

Is it the same as Peony & Blush Suede?

No. Peony & Blush Suede (2013) is a fruity floral with apple and suede and is still sold. Peony & Moss is greener and mossier. We make both.

Is Jo Malone London Peony & Moss coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Jo Malone London about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.

Inside the EU, delivery is free on orders of €49 or more. Below that it is a flat €4.99. Outside the EU, delivery is a flat €4.99 on every order. We send every order in 1 to 2 working days.
