Summer Festival, inspired by Escada Summer Festival (2021)

An ice accord sits right at the top, so the cherry blossom smells frosted, almost like a chilled drink. Green mandarin adds a zesty, slightly unripe citrus tone, and jasmine sambac brings a fuller floral body. The sandalwood base is smooth and rounded, holding the sweetness together. Opinions differ on how sugary it is: some wearers find it very sweet, others mostly fresh.

About the original

Launched in January 2021, Summer Festival was that year's entry in Escada's limited summer series. Amandine Clerc-Marie and Gabriela Chelariu are credited as its perfumers. Besides the eau de toilette, it came as a rollerball and a body mist. It was produced for that one season and has since left Escada's range.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Escada stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A light, frosty floral like this works best in heat, for daytime and casual plans. Its weight is modest. Buyers who dislike sweet florals should know that the cherry blossom note leans sugary on some skins.

The opening pairs cherry blossom with an ice accord, a cool, almost mineral effect.

Green mandarin and jasmine sambac fill out the middle, the citrus keeping the jasmine from turning heady.

Sandalwood finishes it, smooth and gently woody.

Is Escada Summer Festival discontinued?

Yes. It was a limited edition for summer 2021 and was made for that season only.

What is the ice accord?

An abstract note that creates a cold, clear impression. Here it makes the cherry blossom feel chilled.

Is Summer Festival sweet?

Moderately to very, depending on who you ask. The cherry blossom carries most of the sugar, while the ice accord keeps it cool.

Is Escada Summer Festival coming back?

It was a limited edition. So far, we have found no announcement from Escada about a re-release. Our version is an eau de parfum in 50 ml or 100 ml.
