Sweet Lime & Cedar, inspired by Jo Malone London Sweet Lime & Cedar (2008)

Lime opens it, sweetened by blood orange, pomelo and passionfruit, with pink pepper adding a prickle. Then it turns unexpectedly tropical as coconut and ylang-ylang round off the citrus. Tamarind, a sour pod fruit, brings a sticky sweet-sour note, and cardamom adds spice. Cedar and tonka bean close it on a smooth, lightly woody note.

About the original

Launched in autumn 2008 as a cologne in 30 ml and 100 ml, Sweet Lime & Cedar was first sold in the smaller size at Neiman Marcus. Launch coverage named sweet lime, jasmine, ylang-ylang, coconut, tonka bean, pandanus leaf, tamarind and cardamom; the fuller pyramid used here comes from fragrance references. It is no longer listed in Jo Malone London's UK or US cologne range or its online Archive Collection, and one UK perfume reference library records it as discontinued.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Jo Malone London stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

A citrus fan who finds lime colognes too thin will appreciate the coconut and tonka underneath. The tropical sweetness is noticeable, so it is the wrong pick for anyone set on a crisp, dry lime.
