Boss Bottled, inspired by BOSS Bottled (1998)

BOSS Bottled opens with crisp apple and citrus, plus a little plum, fruity but not sugary. Geranium follows with cinnamon and clove, giving a spiced floral middle that feels groomed rather than loud. The drydown is woody, built on sandalwood and cedar with vetiver, and vanilla rounds off the edges.

About the original

Hugo Boss launched BOSS Bottled in 1998 as an Eau de Toilette, with Annick Ménardo credited as perfumer. It became the foundation for a large family of flankers, from Intense and Night to Tonic, Oud and an Eau de Parfum. Its advertising has featured Gerard Butler and Chris Hemsworth, among others.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hugo Boss stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

With its mild sweetness and woody finish, it moves between office, evening and weekend wear through the year. Fans of a cool, aquatic freshness may find it too spiced and woody.

Is BOSS Bottled sweet?

Lightly. Apple and vanilla give some sweetness, but cinnamon, clove and the woods keep it dry and grown-up.
