Boss Bottled Eau De Parfum, inspired by BOSS Bottled Eau de Parfum (2020)

The apple that runs through the whole Bottled family is present from the first spray, cut with black pepper and lifted by bergamot. Within minutes the spices move forward: cinnamon and cardamom, with chestnut adding a roasted, faintly nutty roundness. Next to the 1998 original it reads denser and warmer. Hugo Boss describes the dark vetiver and musk base as giving a leathery, smoky finish.

About the original

This Eau de Parfum joined the BOSS Bottled line in August 2020 as a permanent version, more than twenty years after the 1998 Eau de Toilette. The composition is usually credited to Honorine Blanc. Several other Bottled scents (Parfum, Absolu, Elixir, Beyond) are sold alongside it, and each is a separate fragrance. Published note lists also differ: some current retail copy mentions sage and an olive wood accord in place of chestnut and cinnamon, which may reflect a quiet revision or simply different marketing wording.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Hugo Boss stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Men who wear the Bottled Eau de Toilette and find it too light are the natural audience here. Spice is clearly noticeable, and chestnut gives the heart a rounder, nutty body. Cinnamon is the note most likely to divide opinion, so it is worth knowing whether you enjoy it before choosing this over the original.

The heart is where this version separates from the rest of the line. Cinnamon and cardamom bring heat, and chestnut adds a toasted, mealy texture.

Vetiver and musk carry the base, earthy and slightly smoky.

How is this different from the original Boss Bottled?

The 1998 Bottled Eau de Toilette is lighter and less warm. This 2020 Eau de Parfum keeps the apple but pushes cinnamon, cardamom and chestnut to the front, with a darker vetiver base.
