Colonia Intensa Oud Eau De Cologne Concentree, inspired by Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Oud (2012)

Citrus comes first, clean and familiar from the Colonia line, and it fades quickly into agarwood. Oud here is treated lightly: dry, woody and a touch smoky, without the barnyard depth of traditional Middle Eastern oils. Coriander seed adds a spicy, almost orange-peel lift, and amyris, a wood sometimes called West Indian sandalwood, smooths the edges. Leather and musk carry the base, and the effect is often compared to the interior of an expensive car.

About the original

Colonia Intensa Oud appeared in 2012 in a dark brown bottle as part of Acqua di Parma's Ingredient Collection, launched first at Harrods. Launch press named Russian coriander and Hawaiian amyris among its materials. According to reports, it was later repackaged in a black bottle as Colonia Oud with the same formula. In 2019 the scent was re-released as Oud Eau de Parfum in the Signatures of the Sun collection, which Acqua di Parma still sells with an almost identical note list. Colonia Intensa (2007) is a separate scent with no oud at all.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Acqua di Parma stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

First-time oud wearers are the natural audience, since the citrus and coriander keep it approachable. The drydown leans on leather and smoky woods, and on a wearer used to fresh citrus colognes it may feel too dry and masculine.

Is Colonia Intensa Oud discontinued?

Not as a scent. The Eau de Cologne Concentrée is no longer listed, but Acqua di Parma sells Oud Eau de Parfum (2019), which the brand presents as the same fragrance in a new concentration.

Is this the same as Colonia Intensa?

No. Colonia Intensa (2007) is a separate Colonia without oud. This version is built around agarwood and leather.

Is the oud heavy or medicinal?

It is one of the lighter ouds. Citrus, coriander and amyris keep it fresh and clean rather than animalic.
