One Shock For Him, inspired by Calvin Klein CK One Shock for Him (2011)

One Shock for Him opens on a contrast, setting clementine and lavender beside the watery green of cucumber. Cardamom, pepper and basil then turn it spicy, and osmanthus, a flower with an apricot-like nuance, adds a subtle fruitiness to the heart. The base is the richest part. Tobacco and amber, with patchouli, musk and woody notes, give it a sweet, tobacco-led depth.

About the original

Calvin Klein launched CK One Shock in 2011 as a pair, with separate versions for him and for her, a departure from the shared unisex idea of the original ck one. Ann Gottlieb is usually credited with its creative direction, with IFF named as the fragrance house. It launched as an eau de toilette in 50 and 100 ml, alongside matching body products.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Calvin Klein stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Unlike the unisex ck one, this is a men's scent with a spiced, tobacco-led base, and retailers suggest it for colder months. The amber sweetness may be too much for anyone who prefers dry, fresh scents.
