Aqua Celestia, inspired by Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Celestia (2017)

Lime and mint make the opening cool and green, closer to a crushed leaf than to sea spray. Blackcurrant brings a tart fruit note and mimosa a powdery, pollen-yellow floral one. Musk carries the finish, clean and quietly fruity. For the Cologne Forte, MFK describes bergamot with blackcurrant, mimosa and jasmine melting into a fruity musk accord.

About the original

Francis Kurkdjian launched Aqua Celestia in February 2017 as an eau de toilette, the third scent in his Aqua line after Aqua Universalis (2009) and Aqua Vitae (2013). A Forte version, followed in March 2018 as an eau de parfum and now carries the name Aqua Celestia Cologne Forte. That Cologne Forte is the version MFK sells today. Its official notes lean on bergamot and jasmine where the original list named lime and mint.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Maison Francis Kurkdjian stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Someone who wants a fresh scent that is neither aquatic nor sporty may prefer the way it stays leafy and floral. Its character is light and transparent. Mimosa and blackcurrant give it a fruity sweetness that may not appeal to those wanting a purely citrus cologne.

Not really. Despite the name, it is a citrus floral built on lime, mint, blackcurrant and mimosa, with no marine notes in the published list.
