Neroli Sauvage

Neroli Sauvage, inspired by Creed Néroli Sauvage (1994)

Néroli Sauvage opens on a pile of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, mandarin, bergamot and sweet orange, with ginger giving a spicy fizz. Neroli, distilled from bitter-orange blossom, then sets the tone: floral, slightly green and honeyed. Petitgrain (oil from the orange tree's leaves and twigs) adds a woody bitterness, and verbena a lemony herb note. Javanese vetiver and oakmoss give the base a dry, earthy coolness.

About the original

Launched in 1994, Néroli Sauvage is usually credited to Olivier Creed. The house classes it as citrus, floral and woody, and sells it as an Eau de Parfum. The name means wild neroli, the orange-blossom note at its centre. It is generally treated as unisex, though Creed's UK site places it in the women's collection.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Creed stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Casual wear in spring and summer is where fragrance database voters place it. The oakmoss base gives it a slightly bitter, old-school finish that may surprise people expecting a sweet orange-blossom scent.

Is it related to Dior Eau Sauvage?

No. The names are similar, but Néroli Sauvage is a 1994 Creed citrus scent with no link to Dior's Eau Sauvage, which we also make.

What is the difference between neroli and orange blossom?

Both come from the bitter-orange flower. Neroli is the distilled oil and smells greener; orange blossom absolute is heavier and sweeter.
