Cedrat 37, inspired by Le Labo Cedrat 37 (2021)

Cedrat is a large, thick-skinned citron, and its rind smells zesty and acidic, less sugary than lemon. Here it is paired with ginger, which gives the citrus a peppery tingle, and Le Labo describes an addictive candied sweetness running underneath. The base is woody and musky with a generous dose of ambergris, a salty, mineral note that makes the finish feel sunlit rather than sharp.

About the original

Cedrat 37 arrived in 2021 as Le Labo's City Exclusive for Berlin, and the brand ties it to the city's sense of freedom. Le Labo calls it a delicate balance of cedrat and ginger, and has not named the perfumer. Like the other City Exclusives, it is sold year-round in the Berlin labs and worldwide during a yearly window from August to September.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Le Labo stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Citrus lovers who want a woody, musky base under the zest are its natural audience. Le Labo pitches it as solar and joyous. The ginger is lively and the candied note is noticeable, so a purist wanting tart, dry citrus may find it sweeter than expected.

They are separate Le Labo scents. Cedrat 37 is built on citron and ginger over woods, musks and ambergris. We make both.
