Armani Prive Bleu Turquoise, inspired by Giorgio Armani Armani/Privé Bleu Turquoise (2018)

Salt arrives first, a dry, mineral note like sea air on stone, with incense and black pepper giving it bite. Ylang-ylang and Indian jasmine bring a floral heart, and cypriol, an earthy root also called nagarmotha, adds a smoky, woody tone. Vanilla emerges underneath, salted rather than sugary, on a base of sandalwood and moss.

About the original

Bleu Turquoise was launched in January 2018 together with Bleu Lazuli, joining Rouge Malachite and Vert Malachite in Armani/Privé's La Collection des Terres Précieuses. Aurélien Guichard composed it, and Armani links it to India and to turquoise stone. Armani/Privé is Giorgio Armani's haute-couture fragrance line, marketed as unisex, although some retailers list Bleu Turquoise for women. The official description is brief: salty mineral accords moving into an addictive vanilla.

Our version

Ours is an independent eau de parfum made to evoke the same character. It is not Giorgio Armani stock, not an official relaunch and not the original formula.

Who it suits

Its salt-and-incense contrast makes the vanilla feel drier and more unusual than a typical sweet amber. Fans of mineral or smoky notes will enjoy that tension, whereas a person wanting a plain, cosy vanilla may find the saltiness odd.
