The Story Behind the Scent

Andy Tauer is a self taught Swiss perfumer celebrated for rich, artistic fragrances made in small batches. Au Coeur du Désert is the concentrated extrait of his most famous scent, distilling its dry, spicy, ambery warmth into something even deeper and longer lasting.

Bergamot and lemon open it with a brief brightness before the warmth takes over, a heart of amber and rose builds a rich, dry spiciness, and a base of oud and sandalwood gives it a smooth, resinous depth. It smells like warm sand, spice and dry cedar at sunset, immersive and atmospheric.

How Our Version Compares to the Original

We do not claim this is identical, because no interpretation is. What we have built follows the same amber woody signature of the original, rebuilt at up to 40% perfume oil so it projects clearly early on and lingers longer than a typical spray. A little goes a long way, and it unfolds slowly through its top, heart and base over many hours.
